
Musician Uncle Kracker, who is most known for his hit “Follow Me” in 1999, was arrested today on a second-degree forcible sex offense charge, authorities said. Jim Sughrue, a spokesman for Raleigh Police says a 26 year old woman claims Uncle Kracker committed a sex act against her in a downtown nightclub. Kracker was later arrested in a nearby hotel and held in Wake County jail on $5 Million dollars bond.
Kracker, whose real name is Matthew Shafer will stand before a judge this afternoon, says Wake County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Phyllis Stevens. In 2004 Kracker recorded a #1 country hit with Kenny Chesney titled “When the Sun Goes Down”, the two still occasionally tour together to this day.
