Celebrity Slammer

I’ve always wondered this…like rap singers like Eminem, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, DMX, Ja Rule, and virtually every other rapper flat out say in their songs that they do drugs, sell drugs, are involved in gang activity, murder, or other illegal things, and nothing is done about it. Why can’t they be arrested for that? Isn’t that like a confession? Or is it just ignored because they’re celebrities?

I know-they should be arrested because half of them are doing the stuff they are talking about in their songs, that’s why many of them are getting arrested and doing jail time. Sad huh? Also makes me wonder why R.kelly can do songs about fu(king this and fu(king that when he has a case pending on being a pedophile.

Because its a song… they are lyrics. That doesn’t mean that they are real events. If you have ever heard the song by the Dixie Chicks, “Earl had to die” Its a song about a guy who beats his wife and her and her best friend kill him. Again, it doesn’t mean that it happened!

Don’t be stupid, there is no proof what they are saying is true. Accusations wouldn’t hole up in a court of law. I could go to the police station and say that last week I sold three pounds of crack and they couldn’t arrest me. There’s no proof.
Plus, a lot of rap is storytelling about stuff they’ve done in the past. All these rappers are past the days of hustling coke if they even did it in the first place. Plus cops aren’t gonna waste their time on someone who says that they do drugs, they’re not gonna go out of their way to bust a rec drug user.
Once again. Don’t be stupid.

How are you a top contributer and need explaination for this asanine question. You must be one of those conservative, average, everyday Americans, who is clueless to the real problems in society. What you should wonder is why the youth of America are fascinated with and pay money to listen to the kind of materialistic, violent, destructive, and sexist views perpertrated by rap music. Why does the media want the youth to spend money on clothes, rims, alcohol and drugs? Because it is easier to control us when we do. Why do black people like Cognac is it because Busta Rhymes says to “pass it” in a song; or is he singing about it because black people drink it and a corporation paid him to make a song about their brand. MASS MEDIA CONTROLS YOU AND YOU LOVE THEM FOR IT!

There isn’t any proof of it, so as far as the authorites are concerned, it’s just talk.

just because they say they do it doesn’t exactly mean they did it. and there’sz no proof they did it anyway soo umm it would bee really unfair if they get arrested.

because it is in a SONG – there is no probable cause to investigate (its just words) and therefore, no ability to prosecute.

It’s called the first amendment: freedom of speech.
Talking about selling drugs on the street corner is not illegal. Actually handing over the baggie is another story.
It’s just like in books. Just because people sing/write about it, doesn’t make it true. It’s not a confession. It’s a fantasy reality.

I sell drugs. Do you think im going to get arrested? Smarten up sweetheart. It’s called creative license. You don’t see the police arresting Al Pacino for being the head of the Mafia do you?

I’m sure that they’ve been investigated, but I think that to be arrested, police need more evidence than lyrics.

Well they kinda have to say what their fans expect to hear. If they don’t they can’t make any money. Plus they probably don’t murder any one or stuff like that . I also heard that snoop dogg did drugs but quit.
