Celebrity Slammer

Does this enrage anyone other than me?? How was she given a shorter sentence because of good behavior when she hasn’t gone to jail yet! What, because she hasn’t driven drunk this week, it’s considered ‘good behavior’? I’m 2 years younger than her, and not famous, and I can pretty much guarantee that MY sentence wouldn’t have been CUT IN HALF before I even got to jail. Is anyone else sick of celebrities getting let off the hook when they break the law? What are your thoughts?

I agree with you 100%!
She did the crime on her own and she now needs to own it!
All this reduced sentencing has taught her is what she already thinks, having loads of money and being famous will get you out of anything.
She thinks she is above the law, and letting her get away with it will not teach her anything.
If she is big enough to do it, she is big enough to own it!

That is right, there are two sets of law one for the rich& famous and one for pooe folks.
She was shown on T.V partying in Miami last sunday.oh did i say she was drinking?
But like my Grand mama always ask me ‘did somebody tell you that life will ever be fair? go ask them again.’

I knew this would happen. Celebrities(or the so-called) do NOT go to jail. Not too many ever have or will. Justice is blind until it sees the color green. If slimy little Phil Spector gets off I’m through1

This is totally outrageous. She doesn’t deserve special treatment just because she’s rich and infamous for drinking and partying. But I’m not all that surprised. The “justice” system isn’t really as “just” as we would like to think.
The other side of the coin is that this could hurt her public image. There are a lot of people like you and me who don’t appreciate her getting special treatment.
“Hilton is likely to spend about 23 days in a “special needs housing unit” at the Century Regional Detention Center in suburban Lynwood, said Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore.
The shorter sentence reflects an expectation that she is well behaved behind bars.
“All inmates get credit for good behavior,” Whitmore said. “The inmate knows that if they behave and follow the rules, that’s something to shoot for.”
Hilton will be separated from the general inmate population in a unit that contains 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates, he said.”
Get that – they’re going to roll out the red carpet and treat her like a celebrity instead of a convict!!

It sucks beyond belief. The reason they gave was that she showed up to her last court date and they didn’t have to issue A warrant. As for celebrities getting off the hook…….There is no excuse. Paris is going to be sheltered from the other inmates (which I could agree with, because the inmates shouldn’t have to put up with her) she won’t have to work and the 23 days instead of 45 isn’t right. And for the people who defend her………SHE WAS DRIVING DRUNK WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE!!!!!!! But I guess were supposed to feel bad for poor little Paris.

Its nothing more that Hollywood scum buying their way out of what they have coming to them. What is she famous for other than her name and making a third rate porno? It saddens me to think that less than one third of this nation can point to Kabul on a map, but 98% can say that they have seen Britney’s putty-tat! This is what we call news???? Wow! What happened to my country?

Not only that she’s going to be isolated from the other inmates. Just like staying in a hotel for 3 weeks.

A typical example of double standards – different sets of rules for the rich and the poor. Now I don’t think my daughter would have been able to get away with something like that as lightly as Ms. Hilton did.

Yes! I totally agree with you!
If hollywood did not have so much admiration and dedication from the public, they would be treated more like the general population. We make them popular by watching the entertainment tv shows, buying magazines, etc.

I do think that her notoriety has helped to shorten her jail time, which is obviously special consideration at its finest. I’d really be curious to be a fly on the wall in that conversation- seriously, it would be interesting.
At least it appears that she’s going to jail…it frightens me that she is such a role model and sets this example that you can get away with serious crimes…maybe this will set at least SOMEWHAT of an example to her younger fans that they are not invincible?

Well it just goes to show the denegration of our society when a celeb can have a sentenced reduced due to fan base. If she were in Texas and not California her pleas for a lighter sentenced would be laughed away and she wouldn’t get a private cell with a view.
But you know what no matter how famous your last name has made you or how rich daddy’s money is, she still has genital herpes and that never goes away.
