why is it when they get sentence to jail time they have to report later.. when we do something wrong we have to go right then… what is wrong with our system.. does not the same rule apply to them.. look at martha and now paris

Yes, there’s usually a double-standard (or William Shatner might have seen a trial when he ‘discovered’ his dead wife drowned & bloodied with the back of her head BASHED). You see him broken-up about that, over the passed few years? .LA has a long history of letting celebs get-away with things (like OJ beating his wife for years) ..on the other hand, they KNOW that everyone loves to hate Paris H.. and so..PARIS HILTON HAS A POINT that her judgment might be overkill BECAUSE she’s a celeb. Think about it, and tell me you’ve never read a newspaper about a man caught with 5-10-15+ suspensions.. or a drunk driver, or a high-speeding driver without a license KILLING PEOPLE and getting ZERO jail-time, and a $140 fine, etc… It happens, every day. Why this chick has to go to jail for 45 DAYS is absurd for something that we can find is happening right now — on any highway near you. Go ahead and stop 100 drivers – and you’ll find 20 that are driving with suspended or no licenses (and worse).

In many cases, you can post bail until your trial. You are free to go until your court date. This applies to everyone. Everyone, however, may not be able to afford bail.

Not sure if your premise is correct, as I have not looked into actual statistics.
But it does appear the be skewed, in favor of anyone with enough money or celebrity status.
Pity – I thought we were all equal here in America.
