if it just me or has the U.S. legalsystem has gone terribly wrong. Here we have Paris Hilton arrested for DUI and she surves only three days in jail becasue she was stressed or depressed! to me, this shows how poor our legalsystem is. It really pisses me off when i see people treated as gods just becasue of fame and money. What are the kids gonna grow up thinking? that celebrities get to do whatever they want and not have to pay the price (be arrested.)
Ok, since its a well-known fact that richard gere is gay as he shoves gerbills in his butt, this display is obviously just to hide his sexual orientation.http://movies.yahoo.com/mv/news/ap/20070…
I usually loathe to side with any celebrity that is not a real celebrity (athlete).
However here, I don’t see what the hell these people have a problem with. If they don’t like it look away.
If they don’t want to look away, I hope that gerbil murdering richard gere makes is publicly known that he will not financially support any charities in india and urges other actors to do the same-
We’ll see how quickly they change thier tune.
Will Yahoo! still make a big whoopee doo about their next celebrity question? http://yanswersblog.com/index.php/archiv…
After all, Yahoo! is perfect. They would probably suspend his account. If he had one.
I have never been arrested, I have never had a problem with pills or alcohol, and I have never made over $32,000 in my life. In addition, I have always been a active member in my community.
I would like to say, how disgusted I am at seeing photos of spoiled performers and athletes on my Yahoo main page-who make millions of dollars each year and end up getting arrested for buying pills. I am going through Chapter 7 Bankruptcy for not recovering from a 2006 lay-off and I don’t need to take any pills nor do I swallow my pain drinking gin.
What I hope to hear more about, is more sports and hollywood lay-offs. Sports and Hollywood lay-offs for those that test positive for drugs and alcohol in the workplace. More firings of celebrities who are caught obtaining pills that don’t belong to them. My lay-off was not because of this garbage-but by normal, healthy private-business failure. At 38, because of my finances, I have to live at home with my parents. But I am not a pill addict, drug addict, or alcoholic. I never lost a job for not showing up or drinking on the job.
If an entertainer or sports star buys pills that don’t belong to them, they should be arrested for breaking the law. They are not entitled to any freebies such as pills that may ruin the life of someone in MY Community. They deserve punishment for breaking the law and causing discomfort to the families they abused. Why are they any better than anyone else?
And who cares if the person originally came from the projects–find someone else who is healthy, then to take their place.
Give the jobs to the people who deserve them! Give them to the morally just people in those fields that deserve them!
Don’t you find the following statement absurd:
“He says he’s threatened by her? He’s a star athlete. She’s 5-foot-2, I think, and 105 pounds,” said celebrity New York divorce lawyer Raoul Felder, one of the attorneys representing Joumana Kidd.
If what he is claiming is true, it is disgusting that we still have this idea that women are not capable of terrorizing their husbands in the same way that men can terrorize their wives. Just because a man is bigger doesn’t mean his wife cannot be abusive. Some men are just not violent, believe it or not, and are afraid to do anything because she will likely not be arrested or charged.
Here is an interesting survey – more than 60% of women say it’s OK to hit your husband, and more than 35% have done so.http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/mpapps/pagetoo…
Is this not a terrible double standard?
p.s. Yes I know I am about to get a wave of angry people writing me emails….
Jani Lane lead singer for the glam-rock band ‘Warrant’, was arrested for driving under the influence in the Los Angeles area. Lane reportedly struck a parked car in the San Fernando valley around 9:30 pm Wednesday. Officers form the Los Angeles Police Department suspected intoxication after Lane failed a field sobriety test and booked him at the Van Nuys Division station for misdemeanor CA DUI. His bail was set at $30,000.
Lane, 45, lead the glam-metal band during the late 80′s and into the 90′s, creating hits like ‘Heaven’ and ‘Cherry Pie’. He left Warrant in 2002 to start a solo career. Shortly after releasing an album, he entered a rehab program due to exhaustion from alcohol and drug use. He later rejoined Warrant only to again leave the group and be replaced as lead singer.
The online petition compares her ‘injustice’ to that of Richard Nixon’s. The petition also states other celebrities have been slapped on the wrist, serving no jail time for the same arrest. She was arrested for violating probation and the other celebrities were charged with a first offense. The petition states she provide beauty and excitement to our otherwise mundane lives.
How can she even ask for a pardon is she calls us mundane? Why does she deserve special treatment? 45 days in jail won’t kill her. Hell, knowing her track record, she’ll turn that time into some kind of money making enterprise. I don’t see what the big deal is.
I’ve always wondered this…like rap singers like Eminem, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, DMX, Ja Rule, and virtually every other rapper flat out say in their songs that they do drugs, sell drugs, are involved in gang activity, murder, or other illegal things, and nothing is done about it. Why can’t they be arrested for that? Isn’t that like a confession? Or is it just ignored because they’re celebrities?

You don’t tug on Superman’s cape, you don’t spit into the wind, and you certainly don’t mess around with Jack Bauer – especially if he’s in his cups.
Women’s wear designer Jack McCollough found that out the hard way when he cut between Jack’s alter-ego, Kiefer Sutherland, and Brooke Shields as they were schmoozing at a SoHo nightspot and got a whopping head-butt from the “24″ star, police said.
Some witnesses said McCollough, co-founder of the white-hot Proenza Schouler label, suffered a broken nose in the bell-ringing Tuesday morning at SubMercer, but he told cops all he got was a small cut on his schnoz.
Investigators from the 1st Precinct have the misdemeanor case now and are reaching out to Sutherland to get his side of the story.
Some witnesses said Sutherland went into action hero mode after McCollough bumped into Shields as she and Sutherland talked at the bar about 2 a.m.
Sutherland took offense and demanded the designer apologize to Shields.
But the two men got into a heated argument that ended with Sutherland head-butting McCollough, a police source said.
Shields, who may be talking to cops today, apparently is taking McCollough’s side, TMZ.com reported.
Her reps told the Web site the designer did nothing to deserve the head-butt and although Shields did get jostled, possibly off her feet, “nothing happened to her.”
McCollough told investigators Sutherland “was drunk and obnoxious and wouldn’t back down or be logical.”
He said Sutherland “pulled this stupid wrestling move like a teenager,” then slammed McCollough in the face.
A police source quoted McCollough as saying the dustup “wasn’t even over anything . . . he was just roiling drunk and looking for something to smack. It didn’t matter what.”
A source close to Sutherland said “when Kiefer gets drunk he gets belligerent. If he was drunk, none of this surprises me. He sticks to water in public but in private he goes right to the booze and gets angry and violent. When he’s drunk, people are afraid to be around him,” the source said.
The head-butting took place in front of the likes of Kirsten Dunst, Mary-Kate Olsen and dozens of fashion heavy hitters who were partying after attending the Costume Institute’s gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Sutherland was arrested in 2004 and in the early hours of Sept. 25, 2007, on misdemeanor drunken-driving charges.
In the 2007 case, he pleaded no contest to the DUI charge and was sentenced to 48 days in jail.
Initially, he arranged to spend 18 days in jail during the “24″ winter break in late December and early January 2008, planning to return to jail after production wrapped up.
But the Hollywood writers’ strike interrupted production, allowing him to serve his sentence in 48 consecutive days.
Several episodes of “24″ are said to have been rewritten to work around minor injuries Sutherland got while partying.
He once told an interviewer, “I can’t deny half the stuff that’s been written about me has been true. I’ve done some stupid things. You have to take responsibility, go, ‘That was embarrassing,’and move forward as best you can.
For the record, he can be a tough guy stone sober, too.
In 2001, he unintentionally interrupted filming of the premiere episode of an online series in which the main characters mug an old woman.
Driving by at the time and thinking he was seeing the real thing, Sutherland jumped out of his car to intervene. A small part of his appearance made it into the episode.
