Jeffrey Donovan (41), who stars in Burn Notice, was arrested by Miami Beach police for DUI on Sunday July 12.
The police reports says the police officer heard “a loud tire screech behind me,” and indicated Donovan swerved his car to the left to avoid hitting the police car.
When the officer approached Donovan he said to the officer:
“Sorry, I didn’t see the red light or your stopped car.”
The officer said he smelled alcohol, and asked Donovan if he had been drinking, to which Donovan replied:
“I had three drinks at the Fontainebleau.”
Donovan flunked a field sobriety test, was arrested, and charged with one count of DUI, which is punishable by up to 6 months in jail. At the time of his arrested Donovan reportedly said:
“I really think I’m only borderline and not too drunk.”
“The only mistake I made tonight was drinking Benadryl with 3 glasses of wine.”

Women’s wear designer Jack McCollough found that out the hard way when he cut between Jack’s alter-ego, Kiefer Sutherland, and Brooke Shields as they were schmoozing at a SoHo nightspot and got a whopping head-butt from the “24″ star, police said.
Some witnesses said McCollough, co-founder of the white-hot Proenza Schouler label, suffered a broken nose in the bell-ringing Tuesday morning at SubMercer, but he told cops all he got was a small cut on his schnoz.
Investigators from the 1st Precinct have the misdemeanor case now and are reaching out to Sutherland to get his side of the story.
Some witnesses said Sutherland went into action hero mode after McCollough bumped into Shields as she and Sutherland talked at the bar about 2 a.m.
Sutherland took offense and demanded the designer apologize to Shields.
But the two men got into a heated argument that ended with Sutherland head-butting McCollough, a police source said.
Shields, who may be talking to cops today, apparently is taking McCollough’s side, TMZ.com reported.
Her reps told the Web site the designer did nothing to deserve the head-butt and although Shields did get jostled, possibly off her feet, “nothing happened to her.”
McCollough told investigators Sutherland “was drunk and obnoxious and wouldn’t back down or be logical.”
He said Sutherland “pulled this stupid wrestling move like a teenager,” then slammed McCollough in the face.
A police source quoted McCollough as saying the dustup “wasn’t even over anything . . . he was just roiling drunk and looking for something to smack. It didn’t matter what.”
A source close to Sutherland said “when Kiefer gets drunk he gets belligerent. If he was drunk, none of this surprises me. He sticks to water in public but in private he goes right to the booze and gets angry and violent. When he’s drunk, people are afraid to be around him,” the source said.
The head-butting took place in front of the likes of Kirsten Dunst, Mary-Kate Olsen and dozens of fashion heavy hitters who were partying after attending the Costume Institute’s gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Sutherland was arrested in 2004 and in the early hours of Sept. 25, 2007, on misdemeanor drunken-driving charges.
In the 2007 case, he pleaded no contest to the DUI charge and was sentenced to 48 days in jail.
Initially, he arranged to spend 18 days in jail during the “24″ winter break in late December and early January 2008, planning to return to jail after production wrapped up.
But the Hollywood writers’ strike interrupted production, allowing him to serve his sentence in 48 consecutive days.
Several episodes of “24″ are said to have been rewritten to work around minor injuries Sutherland got while partying.
He once told an interviewer, “I can’t deny half the stuff that’s been written about me has been true. I’ve done some stupid things. You have to take responsibility, go, ‘That was embarrassing,’and move forward as best you can.
For the record, he can be a tough guy stone sober, too.
In 2001, he unintentionally interrupted filming of the premiere episode of an online series in which the main characters mug an old woman.
Driving by at the time and thinking he was seeing the real thing, Sutherland jumped out of his car to intervene. A small part of his appearance made it into the episode.
The recent warrant for the arrest of Lindsay Lohan was issued on the supposition that the actress had violated terms of her probation stemming from a 2007 California DUI arrest. Lohan is required to attend a substance abuse program and there were reported incidents of absence. Lohan’s lawyer provided documentation that the ‘Mean Girls’ star had actually switched the location of the required treatment classes, and the judge rescinded the $50,000 warrant.
Lohan is currently attending the ‘Right On’ program that conducts state licensed education classes for those convicted of driving under the influence in California.

Richie Sambora was arrested on a DUI charge in Laguna Beach, Calif., Tuesday night after he was pulled over with his girlfriend and 10-year-old daughter in the car.
The Bon Jovi guitarist was stopped around 10:52 p.m. after police said they spotted him weaving on the road, Laguna Beach Police Sgt. Jason Kravetz tells PEOPLE. Sambora was driving a Hummer and was with his girlfriend, daughter Ava (whose mother is ex-wife Heather Locklear) and another unidentified juvenile girl.
Sambora was given a blood alcohol test – “He smelled of alcohol,” Kravetz says – and he was “quiet and cooperative and he didn’t cause any problems,” he added.
Sambora was later released from custody on his own recognizance at about 4 a.m. He is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on May 7.
“At this point there’s no indication of drugs,” Kravetz told TMZ.com, which first reported the arrest.
A rep for Sambora had no immediate comment.
A friend who knows Sambora and Locklear tells PEOPLE the news of the musician’s arrest is “shocking.”
The friend, who hasn’t spoken to Sambora since the incident, said the fact that his daughter, Ava, was also in the car is “almost too much to believe. He adores her and is very protective her. All I can think is that he made a stupid miscalculation.”
In June 2007, Sambora entered a treatment facility. “I was just drinking too much and I needed to get my life together,” he said during a Today show appearance. “I’m still in therapy and stuff like that, but it’s good. I’m great. I feel fine.”
Last year was a difficult one for the musician, 48. He and actress Denise Richards broke up after dating for about a year. In April, his divorce from Locklear was finalized and that same month, his father died of lung cancer.
As for Sambora’s band obligations, his next tour date with Bon Jovi was slated for Monday in Denver.
