Personally I think she got off lightly.
These celebrities (or children of the rich and famous) think that the law does not apply to them and it really p***es me off.
They are often put upon as so called “roll models” and as such should serve the toughest possible sentence as it would probably act more of a deterrent to everyone else.
It should not matter who you are or what Country you live or are from, the law is the law and it should apply to everyone (But so often never does to these spoilt rich people).
Paris Hilton is to be tagged with an alarm to protect her from fellow prison inmates.
The hotel heiress will be provided with a panic device giving her a 24-hour link to prison guards in case she encounters trouble when she begins her prison sentence next month, according to Britain’s The Sun newspaper.
Hilton must report to Century Regional Detention Centre in Los Angeles by June 5 after she was found guilty of driving with a suspended licence.
As well as being tagged with an alarm ‘The Simple Life’ star will be kept in the prison’s ‘special needs’ unit, which is reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates.
The 26-year-old has made it known she is “really scared” by the prospect of going to jail.
Her sentence has already been cut from 45 to 23 days for “good behaviour,” despite the fact that she has yet to begin serving it.
Hilton’s mother Kathy called her daughter’s imprisonment “horrendous.”
Whats you Opinion!
CNN.com reported that he’ll be making sausages in the prison kitchen for the first 6 months, then he’ll be assigned to laundry shoot duty.
Is this fair?
Or do you think that fancy celebrities like he and Paris Hilton should get special treatment when they are in prison?
Discuss.

Why is there not a psuedo-celebrity catergory????
LOS ANGELES (May 16) – Paris Hilton will serve about half of her 45-day jail sentence and will be separated from the general inmate population, authorities said Wednesday
The hotel heiress will spend about 23 days in a “special needs housing unit” at the Century Regional Detention Center in suburban Lynwood, Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said.
Her sentence was shortened after jail officials gave her credit for good behavior, Whitmore said. Officials considered several factors in calculating the credit, including that she appeared for her latest court date, he said.
Hilton will stay in a unit that contains 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates, he said.
Like everyone else in the 2,200-inmate facility, Hilton will get at least an hour outside her cell each day to shower, watch television, participate in outdoor recreation or talk on the telephone, he said.
I guess money can buy you out of jail time. Is it fair for Paris to pardon because of her social or celebrity status, or should she be treated the same?
The police say overcrowding, I say bullsh*t! We all know money talks, and the fact shes a celebrity not only inflates her false ego but gives her even more protection from the law. I know in my heart and mind that she will screw up again, and next time maybe she will end up killing someone and/or herself. With her obvious immaturity, lack of any parental support, and people around her telling her shes great, it will be no surprise when shes gets in trouble again. I guess my question would be should celebrities be held too higher standards instead of lower ones? This would make more sense to me, and I think a full 1 year sentence in jail for a second DWI would make an example to all and reinforce the belief that our justice system can be fair. In most states now the 1st DWI is mandatory jailtime, the second should be at least a year, and celebrities should pay a much higher price for their crimes. It would get exposure if she was harshly treated and maybe would make others think.
Does this enrage anyone other than me?? How was she given a shorter sentence because of good behavior when she hasn’t gone to jail yet! What, because she hasn’t driven drunk this week, it’s considered ‘good behavior’? I’m 2 years younger than her, and not famous, and I can pretty much guarantee that MY sentence wouldn’t have been CUT IN HALF before I even got to jail. Is anyone else sick of celebrities getting let off the hook when they break the law? What are your thoughts?
She did the time she should do the time. How come celebrities get away with stuff because they have money and are famous?
Does the law not apply to everyone? I guess not in this case
