“Straight Outta Compton” star Jason Mitchell was arrested in Mississippi this week on gun and drug possession charges.
Page Six confirmed Thursday that the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office arrested and booked Mitchell on Wednesday on four felony charges: possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute (marijuana), two counts of possession of a weapon by a felon (Glock19 and a Mini Draco) and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute (ecstasy).
Mitchell, 33, was booked at 2:27 p.m. local time in Harrison County Jail. He was released at 7:58 p.m that evening on a $150,000 bond.
The “Mudbound” actor has been in and out of trouble over the past couple of years. In 2019, following claims of misconduct, Mitchell was fired from the Netflix movie “Desperado” and dropped by Showtime’s “The Chi.” His “The Chi” co-star, Tiffany Boone, departed the series in 2018 after alleging Mitchell sexually harassed her.
Mitchell’s agent, manager and lawyer cut ties with him after he was dropped from “The Chi.”
He denied the allegations in an interview with “The Breakfast Club” at the time, saying, “For anybody who’s been around me, they know I’m one of the most loving, sweet people in the world, but if I did do anything, say anything, make anybody feel any kind of way, you have my deepest apologies. Like, honestly, my deepest apologies. Because that was never my intention of making anybody feel any sort of way.”
